Kapgun Art

My practice as a visual artist includes drawing, painting and printmaking. I especially relish the challenging (and often unforgiving) nature of stone lithograph. The physical task of grinding down a piece of limestone, drawing on it with greasy pencils and inks, then cranking it through a press to produce a limited edition of imagery is in stark contrast to sitting at my desk with a keyboard and stylus. Having been raised on comic books and graphic novels, I endeavour to tell stories through my work, leaving it open to the viewer to interpret the ultimate direction of the narrative.

“Kapgun” was just a kick-ass nickname given to me by a co-worker many years ago, and it seems to have stuck.
